WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor announced today that its Veterans’ Employment and Training Service has awarded a $1.2 million technical service contract aimed to improve the customer experience for veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses using the agency’s resources.
In 2021, more than 2,800 staff funded by VETS served more than 370,000 veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses worldwide. Approximately 45,000 of these people were using services supported by the Jobs for Veterans State Grant program at American Job Centers.
VETS’ award to Technical Assent LLC – a service-disabled veteran-owned small business – will fund a multi-year effort to enhance user experiences with the tools and resources VETS provides. The effort aligns with the Executive Order on Transforming Federal Customer Experience guidance.
In its initial phase, VETS and Technical Assent will work together to gain a deeper understanding of veterans’ experiences with service delivery at more than 2,300 American Job Centers nationwide and made available through the Jobs for Veterans State Grant program. The project seeks to better understand the challenges users face when seeking employment assistance.
