ATLANTA – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division has teamed up with the department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration to offer a series of “Essential Workers – Essential Protections” webinars to educate employees and employers on critical workplace protections afforded to them under federal law. The webinars detail the workplace rights of people who have been keeping the country moving throughout the pandemic.
Rapid changes in the workplace during the pandemic have left many in the workforce seeking information on workplace safety, wages, hours worked, and time off for workers and their family members dealing with serious illness. These webinars provide an overview of the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family Medical Leave Act and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
Employers, business owners and other stakeholders are encouraged to join any of the free webinars or reach out to their nearest Wage and Hour Division Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist for more information. Attendance is free, but advance registration is required. All events begin at 10 a.m. EDT (unless noted otherwise).
