WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor has announced that its Employment and Training Administration has issued guidance to inform states and outlying areas about their formula allotments and the process to apply for certain programs for the start of the program year on July 1, 2022.

These programs include Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act’s Adult, Dislocated Worker and Youth Activities Programs’ allotments, the Wagner-Peyser Act’s Employment Service allotments and allotments for Workforce Information Grants.

ETA also published a Federal Register notice announcing the amount of funds available during Program Year 2022 for states to provide career and training services to job seekers in specific populations, through WIOA-authorized programs.

Signed on March 15, 2022, the Consolidated Appropriations Act for 2022 made PY22 Youth Activities funds available for obligation on April 1, 2022, and WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker funds available in separate appropriations. Its base funds are available on July 1, 2022, and advance funds are available for obligation on Oct. 1, 2022.

The public may submit comments on the formula used to allot funds to outlying areas within 30 days from the date of publication in the Federal Register.
