WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Labor today announced the award of $90 million in grants to organizations in 44 states and Puerto Rico to provide training and career services and related support services, and work-based learning to help migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents develop skills to pursue careers in agriculture or non-agriculture sectors.Overseen by the department’s Employment and Training Administration, the National Farmworker Jobs Program will support 51 organizations with Career Services and Training grants. The grants support worker-centered, sector-based training that incorporates industry partnerships and produces positive outcomes for workers and employers. The awards announced today include eight grants, totaling more than $15.8 million, for organizations that did not receive an NFJP Career services and Training award in the previous competition. The NFJP helps organizations provide quality career services and training opportunities to migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their dependents – including youth and adults – that enable them to obtain industry-recognized credentials in agriculture and non-agriculture industries. The award follows the department’s March 5, 2024, funding availability announcement. Authorized by the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, NFJP grants will facilitate the delivery of workforce solutions that are responsive to the needs of workers and employers in many industries. Learn more about the department’s National Farmworker Jobs Program. The department is awarding NFJP career services and training grants to the following recipients:RecipientStateAmountAlabama Non-Profit Housing Inc.AL$819,254 Portable Practical Educational Preparation Inc.AZ$2,695,075 Portable Practical Educational Preparation Inc.AZ$2,695,075 Arkansas Human Development Corp.AR$1,335,670 California Human Development Corp.CA$4,750,641 Center for Employment TrainingCA$5,846,942 Central Valley Opportunity Center Inc.CA$2,311,992 County of San JoaquinCA$4,385,207 County of Santa BarbaraCA$1,999,999 Proteus Inc.CA$3,654,339 Ventura County Human Services AgencyCA$1,499,999 Rocky Mountain SER/Jobs for Progress Inc.CO$1,861,098 New England Farm Workers’ Council Inc.CT$561,080 Telamon Corp.DE$173,040 Florida Department of EducationFL$3,341,607 Alabama Non-Profit Housing Inc.GA$1,854,244 Community Council of Idaho Inc.ID$2,456,510 United Migrant Opportunity Services Inc.IL$2,047,578 Grantee to be determined*IA$1,966,415Proteus Inc.IN$1,375,814 SER Corp.KS$1,391,815 Motivation Education and Training Inc.KY$884,447 Motivation Education and Training Inc.LA$876,018 PathStone Corp.ME$456,735 Telamon Corp.MD$583,239 Michigan Department of Labor and Economic OpportunityMI$2,321,013 Motivation Education and Training Inc.MN$1,760,682 Mississippi Delta Council for Farm Workers Opportunities Inc.MS$975,630 United Migrant Opportunity Services Inc.MO$1,364,928 Rural Employment Opportunities Inc.MT$782,918 Proteus Inc.NE$1,395,844 Oregon Human Development Corp.NV$250,646 PathStone Corp.NJ$861,724 Motivation Education and Training Inc.NM$1,195,285 PathStone Corp.NY$2,428,020 Alabama Non-Profit Housing Inc.NC$2,229,279 Motivation Education and Training Inc.ND$823,979 PathStone Corp.OH$1,608,714 Oregon Human Development Corp.OR$2,470,234 PathStone Corp.PA$1,972,494 PathStone Corp.PR$2,161,223 Northeastern Technical CollegeSC$735,211 Black Hills Special Services CooperativeSD$745,148 Tennessee Opportunity Programs Inc.TN$702,603 Motivation Education and Training Inc.TX$4,897,864 Futures Through Training Inc.UT$732,018 PathStone Corp.VT$229,153 Telamon Corp.VA$829,949 Opportunities Industrialization Center of WashingtonWA$5,048,619 Telamon Corp.WV$122,035 United Migrant Opportunity Services Inc.WI$1,924,197 Motivation Education and Training Inc.WY$349,832 Total Awarded $90,048,000
